Women in Law, mentoring for female lawyers

A survey conducted by the IBGE reveals that women earn less than men even though they are the majority with higher education. This fact is repeated in many different professions, but in traditional professions, i.e. those that have typically always been occupied by men, this is more significant, as in the case of law.

With this in mind, Women In Law Mentoring, a "non-profit association whose aim is to enhance skills and inspire female protagonism in the legal environment", has created a mentoring project, becoming an important organisation that gives support and backing in the careers of countless women.

The members seek to share knowledge and learn from each other, providing career support and tips such as productivity improvement, everyday issues in the legal environment, writing, social media management, trends in the field and conversations about the professional aspect such as self-confidence and strengths.

Notorious names such as Débora Martins, Tax Manager at Sicredi, Larissa Cassol (Ambev), Mariana M. Fernandes, Senior Tax Analyst at Dell Computadores, among many others, were part of this mentoring process.

As the philosopher Simone de Beauvoir says: "It is through work that women have been reducing the distance that separated them from men, only work can guarantee them concrete independence".
